Tame Impala would be a cool addition...it's nice to have that new psychedelic sound at least for a little at fests. (Ex. Sean Lennon on the mountain last year) They are at the governors ball the same weekend which would make sense.

We normally get four late night acts. Those have been announced. Can't really see UM not late night anymore. I would like an UM + PRIMUS Thursday next year though. The line up page now shows RRE and Marco as Thursday. MOE is the headliner there. Not bad... Marco 45-60 minute set will get me off my behind from the RV and inside. Is RRE big enough for the two hour slot before MOE (DSO last year) or do they get the 60 minute set? If not, from the list already announced who gets 2 hours, but Thursday??? JRAD? Marco plays 45 > RRE 60 > JRAD 120 > MOE? I think that is a nice Thursday- and now we do need a little DEAD later in the weekend. Maybe we slot something in before Shakes on Sunday. (Shakes Sunday is growing on me, and, I think I may start referring to Sunday as such) Last year Sunday was Franti > Lucius > ABB Franti > Warren+Jackie doing some DEAD > Shakes? JUMPJUMPJUMP > CHiiiiiiiiiiiiillllllll > That voice belting out over the MT? Then again I am still waiting on last year's idea of UM set 1>DSO>UM set 2. Maybe we get MULE>JRAD>DSMULE. As we speculate- last year's daily schedule is still up at mountainjam.com/thursday-schedule/Somebody should write this down. Along with the dates they made announcements previous years.

Another couple of ideas... bands they could definitely get, with a nice jammy side: * Anders Parker & Cloudbadge * Pimps of Joytime * Rich Robinson ... amazing live if you like the Crowes. Not as jammy as his brother's band, but probably the best set of live music I saw in 2014.

Jambands.com listed JRADS new tour dates along with the mountain jam appearance which says is on 6/4 (thurs). I believe this to be the actual date because right under the mountain jam date it lists Wakarusa 6/4-6/7 rather than a single date

Line up sucks this year!! They need to change the name to chad-fest. What is there like 3 jam bands on the bill?? Thank God franti will be there for the custy parade and rusted root! What is it 1995... so lame. Do check out Shakey Graves, good stuff.

I agree with nate, too... some more psychedelia. Spoon's just down the road at Gov's Ball that weekend, but it's kind of a big act to add to this bill at this point. Other ides on the psychedelic side: * Black Angels * Suuns * Lukas Nelson & the Promise of the Real (if you haven't heard them -- fronted by Willie's son Lukas -- you must; backing Neil Young on his new album!) * Aerolites (awesome Vermont rootsy psychedelia... I'm plugging Vermont bands when appropriate)

POTR is great.
On a negative note, Gary was on the Facebook and said he they are done booking and only booking small bands.
We ain't gettin' anything to boost the line up. From one day to four days 60 bands to four days 30 bands. Cue up the onslaught of Mountain Scam posts.

Just read the Whole chat with Gary thingy on fb. We have been to MJ 8-10 and WERE planning on going this year but after looking at it from a few different perspectives we are not coming. But that's not to say we won't ever come back just not this Year. 1. Really only a handful of Bands that we REALLY want to see and only interested in 2 of the 4 headliners(Mule need to Headline one night) 2. $455 for 2 4 day tix + $1000 for 4 nights at Scribner Hollow OR around $750 for a local guy we know to rent us who knows what, even if it IS very close by. 3. All the other stuff that everyone else has been complaining about,Security/Cops/Giant Tent ect... So we'll take a Year off and see how things go this Year. We have actually decided to return to The Carolina Rebellion Festival in Charlotte,NC. Went last Year mainly because you can get VIP with Hotel/Shuttle and Shaded areas on the concert field for 2 people for $700 and Wife loves her hard Rock/Metal! Pretty sure most people on this board will hate it but here's the link anyway! carolinarebellion.com/lineup.html The thing we will miss the most are the new people that we meet and also the ones we see each time too! And,Mule,Moe. & Robert Plant! see you all on the Boards!

The way I see Gary's facebook feed statement, is that all the bands are booked. According to him. But I think they still have about 10 acts to announce. Of course they won't be big name acts, maybe next year TTB and MMJ . But, I'm holding out hope for some of the smaller status bands that we have been batting around on this post.

somwhat underwhelmed by the lineup, but I guess I was spoiled by last years lineup. It was my first Mountain Jam and I am new to festivals.
This year My tickets were purchased before the bands were announced and if I keep it in perspective, I would have paid more to see Mule and Moe at the Beacon Theater, so anything else that I catch is a bonus.
I shouldn't really complain cause there are bands at MJ this year that I listen to anyway, but I expected more.
I will consider purchasing tix next year after they announce lineup.
Also, Gary doing the Q and A thing on FB was excellent. I appreciate the open forum with the Big Guys... it shows they care and listen....
** One more thing, anyone hear from Soulmate? It's been a while since she has graced us with her sunshine on the board and I'm concerned if she is ok. I know, sounds dumb but she's a refreshing perspective and lifeline to the others on the board and council........
Disclaimer....my perspective is my opinion. Not saying the festival stinks, it doesn't. It's a great experience....also, my opinion is subject to change from morning to night, or as they add secondary bands, as it's my prerogative.....

Does seem like all additions will be lower on the bill. So, my suggestions for Anders Parker, Aerolites, Pimps of Joytime, and Rich Robinson are all still valid.
On the other hand, if it's a few fewer than 40 acts, maybe we'll see slightly longer sets by some of the "smaller" acts. I felt a couple of sets were too short last year.
