Let's hear your predictions of who you think they will add. There are something like 12 more bands coming so that means there will probably be 1 or 2 bands right underneath the headliner spot and the rest should be smaller/daytime bands. Possibly 1 more late night act. Keep it realistic. String Cheese & the Dead aren't coming people! Here's mine (Might be 1 or 2 of these):
The Word
Tedeschi Trucks or Avetts
Gary Clark Jr.
Lettuce
J Roddy Walston & the Business
Trombone Shorty
Strand of Oaks
Felice Brothers
Langhorne Slim

Always the possibility of London Souls. Old Crow Medicine Show or Xavier Rudd(wishful thinking) wouldn't suck. Lord Huron would fit too.

I totally miscalled the first round. But I would like to see J Roddy. I would be happy to see something a little offbeat , maybe psychedelic? Tame impala? Someone had mentioned a while back Zappa plays zappa . That would be cool. As you mentioned , the word. Or really I would be so happy with TTB they were awesome last year.

If I am betting, I say Rat Dog Jr. will be added. Obviously I would like the Truckers. North Mississippi Osbourne would be great. Hardworking Americans? Zappa Plays Zappa would be cool as would Blitzen Trapper, can never go wrong with Trombone Shorty. Marco will be there twice, Nathan Moore is an alumni, The Slip would be a treat. Back to trying to be on point... J Roddy- while not really a fan they are good, playing Governor's Ball, blow the roof off, and their fans bring it. Seem to fit the line up and they are not the Avett Brothers. I really don't know where to put my expectations. We have not gotten a more to come or final announcement message. I don't really have a complaint. But, I really don't have one band that I am super excited about, so DBT would fit the bill. And, since they don't tour too far and are also alumni a return of the Grand Slambovians would be a low cost make Mr Brow happy booking.

Those guys. I tend to miss that early AM set. They must be approaching Frantiesque numbers in terms of appearances.
Whatdayathink? Hand out HoHos and RingDings for breakfast and catch them this year?
Personally I prefer the musicianship of Rocknocerous. Big Duane Allman fans and they throw a Beatles tune into each set.

Favorite Band You've Seen At Mountain Jam: Blitzen Trapper

Do we think that many more bands will be added? Seems like the lineup is much fuller than at this point last year, when they hadn't announced all the headliners yet. That said, if any bands were to be added that seem to be missing, I'm thinking:
* Blitzen Trapper * White Denim * John Brown's Body * Spoon (though this is a reach).
And I agree with jetro315 wholeheartedly on Tedeschi-Trucks again, Lettuce (or Soulive), and J Roddy.

For what it's worth egmatic they advertise 40+ bands. So far I think it's 28 or 29 bands...

Since the elimination of the acoustic stage we have been consistent with 40 bands.
We are at 28. Throw in the kids bands, some locals, a couple that mysteriously appear without an announcement...
Not many more to be added. A couple that would merit an announcement. TTB would fit that, slide Blitzen Trapper in there. J Roddy and DBT announced together?
I think you are really looking at tour scheduling and price. I've promoters mention that it can be a bear booking TTB with so many people in the band.

Black Crowes are broken up, so they definitely won't be an addition. I'd like to see The Word, Sturgill Simpson, Tedeschi Trucks, or the Avetts as additions worthy of an announcement.
Smaller bands on the festival circuit this year that I would like to see added include: Cabinet, Houndmouth, and Natural Child (if you haven't listened to their last album, do yourself a favor and crank it up ASAP).
