Help! While packing up in the driving rain Monday morning, the notepad where I keep my setlist notes got wet and smeared/tore the page where I had Michael Franti's setlist from Sunday afternoon.
I can remember about 80% of the tunes that he played, but I like to keep an accuarate record of artist setlists (a strange hobby of mine; I've been doing it for decades).
If anyone could help me out with an accurate setlist, I would appreciate it.
What a great weekend! Looking forward to seeing everyone next year. Peace.

I dont know man, Franti played more of his older stuff. I like the old revolutionary Franti and he def brought a lot of that. Did so in his acoustic set as well.

Highlight of his acoustic set was Ganga Baby. Wish he did that on the big stage.

He totally switched it up!
1. Wave hands in air
2. Jump Jump
3. Wave
4. Jump more
5. Same old.......
Yup, a little more of the older stuff and really liked the revolutionary Franti much much more. I can't get into "Yell Fire" as a happy dance tune.

I think he also played:
"How you feelin'?" with a jam into "How you feelin'?"

Jeez... I am pretty sick of seeing this guy every year. He pushed his way thru our chairs this year and broke my serenity ?

It was troubling to see the angry security guards telling people to move out of the way as the happy barefoot guy came bounding down the hill right near the seats where we were hanging out. If he had stopped to ask me how I was feelin' he might not have been so happy with my response.

One of the highlights of the weekend was seeing Franti pull Ken up with him. "Brothers of a different mother" indeed!

Here's the thing with Franti at Mt. Jam: He's a pop sensationalist with no real musical talent or innovation when compared to almost every other act at the festival, a jam band event, not American Idol. Franti doesn't jam, he cheer leads at best. You could replace him with Justin Beeber or Miley Cyrus or Milli Vanilli (name any mainstream pop act) at Mt. Jam and you get the same result: IT DOESN'T FIT! This year was a perfect example where he comes on the same evening right after Sean Lennon's band Ghost of a Sabre Tooth Tiger (who were excellent), same day as the soulful Chris Robinson and his Brotherhood and, of course an hour before the Allman Bros. On top of that, his volume is a total assault on the mellowness of the festival. Hunter should hold a separate Hip Hop/Pop Soul festival to feature Franiti because he does not fit at Mt. Jam, period. Sorry folks, I know his Coolaid tastes good to many of you, but someone had to break it to you: it's just Coolaid, not real fruit juice.
