I don't have a car, was hoping not to rent one so I can afford to stay i a hotel two nights. I'll gladly share gas and tolls, even driving.

Take the Mountain Jam shuttle. It's much cheaper than renting a car. I haven't seen the advertisement for it yet but I would imagine it's running

Let me get this straight...there's a trailways shuttle bus from NYC to Hunter Mountain? Or is it to a nearby station? If so, which one? Great idea, by the way....thanks!

Oh, I see...it runs to Hunter NY, and there's a shuttle from the bus station to the festival?

The Hunter "terminal" is
Country Store & Kitchen
7738 Route 23a, Hunter, NY 12442 BUS 800-776-7548 6am-11pm Daily No Credit cards Store (518) 263-3992
I think on festival days they will stop at the gate. The store is just north on the same road.

I do not know the time of the busses. The store is probably open those times. Leave Monday morning?

Sounds like a plan...bus to Hunter. Now have to book a hotel if it's not too late.

Hotels, especially close to the site, are at a premium and may be already filled at this point. You might also want to look at nearby condos.

All set! Reserved a car, a hotel (not served by shuttle) and tickets for Saturday and Sunday. Hooray!
Is there a parking area served by the shuttle? Or walking distance to event?

You can buy an on-site parking pass for $75 (see mountainjam.com/extras/), or you can park at off-site lots serviced by a shuttle. Off-site parking has been free in past years so hopefully this year will be the same. Sometimes you can also find an on-street spot in the village of Hunter and then just walk from there.

Just letting you know that there is a girl driving from Brooklyn who wanted a passenger, she's leaving on Friday. I can tell her to come post here.

Tempting though that Friday would be, I made tentative arrangements to rent a car, drive up after work (boo!) Friday, stay in East Durham, and spend all Saturday and Sunday at the festival. Thanks for looking out for me, Soulmate!
