Good -
The obvious: seeing everybody and getting back home
Thursday and Friday line up
RV logistics were better. (spots were spray painted to our full space, mostly the same guys working provided consistency, GOOD WORK CHRIS!) We could see the front entrance from our spot between a sweet AirLiner and tour bus type RVs.
Fewer fences than two years ago
Security seemed consistent
Bad -
RFID bracelets. What was the point? Data collecting to figure out money lost? Didn't even work on Thursday.
A couple of overly serious guards. I guess they balance the totally lax guys, but, not our fault if your bracelet blinky light thingy doesn't work
We exited to eat three times a day, I really get tired of being patted down each time. And for crying out loud, don't look me in the eye while you do it. Creepy
We all know the no glass rule. We had our 144 cans of beer- we were allowed to keep out coffee pot as long as we promised to keep it inside. Our neighbors were told they had to dump their bottles of wine into plastic jugs. Do you really expect the jammers in the $400,000 motorcoach to drink box wine? This is RV land... man.
We had to exit to meet our companion vehicle to confirm he was with us (missed some RRE and Marco and MOE1 as a result) Despite having a 20'x 50' slot for our RV and companion vehicle, he had to park across the lot while a 20'x20' plot we paid to use stayed empty. Next year there should be companion vehicle sticker mailed with the RV sticker and we should get to use the space we paid for.
Ugly -
The exit from the main lodge being used for people to enter so you walk to walk up behind security and fight your way out. But holy cow! Make sure you scanned your bracelet to leave. The bracelets were stupid.
The wing nut I saw throwing water balloons into the crowd. Just as bad as the people think "I'll throw 100 glow sticks in the air... pretty... I wonder where they land"
The wing nut debating that his bag of chips were not food- and since the sign did not say no chips- "no outside food" on the sign did not apply
Exiting Saturday night (again the exit was blocked) there were a bunch of sheriff badges Automatically we assumed WTF cops? Then we hear them questioning the wing nut about the Andro he was bringing in, along with the half smoked joint. Dude, smoke it or sneak it or leave it, whatever, don't walk through security half way. Andro? Really? Are people lifting weights at fests?
Still waiting for an email reply or call back from MJ regarding how our companion vehicle would get to us. The fest has come and gone. I guess you already had our money
AND...
I don't where to put this one. Wow there were a lot of day trippers on Saturday. I know we cap at 15,000 people and it is less enjoyable. It looked like we had 15 on Saturday but maybe 8 the other days. It made for more space on three days, but, I don't know what it does to the business model. The Saturday crowd was younger and definitely more females. Saint and I discussed this as a positive because those old MULE shows were sausage fests. I know on Thursday and Friday that when people were waving their hands, they were nearly all 21. I know because of the OVER 21 bracelets.
