Hi! I know that the car spots are 10x30, but I'm curious if those are marked off in a grid, or if they are sort of flexible. We are hoping to fit two tents (one large, one small) and our car + be able to have a little spot to sit and hang out. Seems like that might be a little tight (/impossible) if we are roped off at 10x30 or don't have friendly neighbors. Does anyone know for sure - or have a picture of what it looks like in the car camping sites? Also, we aren't getting there until Friday night - are we doomed to a terrible site?

well, this question had been answered over and over which is why its a good idea to read through the message board.
Yes each space is marked off, and each year the way festivals do things changes. So we can say that lastyear we got lots of room, but as festivals evolve, they do change up the way they do things....
As long as you're on the mountain, you aren't doomed to a terrible site. I'd expect if they pack in the same way they did lastyear, you will be at the bottom of the hill in the grassy area.

It's possible they'll have spray paint spaces marked out - I have seen them try to enforce the 10 x 30 thing with kind of poor results.

They had plastic forks marking off the spots last year later some little red orange flags, some gave you more room because you were next to a tree, bush, you have to wait down below and they escort you to a spot, they gave me a couple choices the guys who took me to my spot were very friendly the spot was awesome all cut grass. You will love it, it's also in view of the stage I could see the stage from my tent ! There are spots in the shade some have a clear view to the stage, you will like it, last year last year it was great. Last year if you violated your space the dudes brought out the little cosmic wheel of measurement like they use on the football field to measure the lines out, there pretty much right on the money for size Theres spots on the hill near you, last year not by the cars people popped little tents up by that building up there basically in back of car camping. Note the pic below you can clearly see one site marked off with plastic forks and flags, they left a little emergency path open that's where the semi balding guy is dancing ! sorry for asking a question that has already been answered. I did read the board, including a search for "car camp", and didn't see this question asked among all the "I need a car camping pass" posts. I did see a similar one about tent camping. thank you for the help.

They were pretty stringent in some areas, when things got busy and they needed some spots the one guy came out with a little measurement wheel to make sure people didn't violate their space. Attachments:
