I like to hang and listen to the music too. Hear a bit of a band and if they are OK but don't love them we traipse on over to another stage and hang out and listen to another band. We set a plan of attack and give in to the vibe.
Get that yearly of Franti and then traipse on over to catch Bill Evans and Warren Haynes.
Gary Clark seems like the same set as last time? Traipse over to get a crawfish pie where you can still hear it, traipse on back.
Interpretive dancer splashing mud onto you? Traipse a little farther up the hill. Evil black storm cloud pop over the mountain? Traipse over to the beer tent and watch from there.
A fifth tamborine player joins the three banjo players? Traipse back to the RV.
Traipse on in and sprawl out on the ground in the sun, hear Gandolph Murphy for the first time.
Honestly, traipsing has led to meeting Karl Denison and Kofi Burbidge, chilling with Farmer, talking to Nathan Moore, getting invited to NC by Dom Flemons and a whole bunch more stuff.

I think the Jammer package is worth it. The food is outstanding, the lounge is very nice, the VIP viewing area is great. even if it did screw up the flow of the crowd it was much easier to access last year. Most importantly having real toilets for the weekend is almost worth it by itself. It is a big price tag, but I have planed for it every year. As soon as Mt Jam is over I start saving for the next year. Mt Jam is my big get away every year so I don't mind dishing out the extra bucks for it.

As I ripen with age it seems more attractive but I just can't see myself ever really doing it.

As I ripen with age I find more women attractive. It used to be ages 18-30, now its 18-50. I assume 20 years from now 18-70.

I feel like getting the 4 day with car camping would be the way to go. Get there as soon as gates open, and you pretty much camp where ever you want and there are PLENTY of flat places to camp. Yea the food may be great with VIP but the food truck thing they have is pretty sweet. Im with you, Id rather be with the masses. Always a good vibe at MJ.

the thing is, with mcjz, we have so many people who bring so much food and drinks, plus we do the Saturday pot luck picnic and of course our incredible kitchen setup by one of our regular campers. we eat so well at the camp site. we have several chefs and plenty of good cooks who make tons of great food. I doubt that what ever mj is putting out is better. so I wouldn't bother with vip, we have sort of created our own vip.

For those of us that don't get camping and can't go to the MCJZ... VIP food is awesome... And you don't have to leave the concert field.. And there's food all the time..
And Full Moon is amazing!!! The food is great!! They do an awesome catering job..

Is the food worth $200? Thats two nights out during the summer for that price. To me it is - I eat a lot there.. they also have water and soda too. Coffee is nice late.. Plus the discounted mixed drinks are sweet... Hammocks in the trees.. nice bathroom right there. They have TV monitors and speakers showing the stage.. It's nice to have a place to hang out when it rains.. For people that aren't stoked to always dance in the rain.. Like I've said - I don't hang out in the VIP pit or whatever.. Too confining for me..
