Please be careful for ground based killdeer bird nest when putting down your tent, hiking, playing golf or taking a leak ! When I was walking up on the hill two years ago on the rocky and grassy part some nature folk called to me up by the frisbee golf area, I was walking up to the Big Mountain Jam sign at the top of the mountain, they said that the bird that is on the ground near you is a scared Killdeer they have a ground nest, don't step on the nest it's camouflaged that's why it's chirping I was near the nest and it was trying to have me chase it as prey rather than hurt it's nest that's their method of defense for their nest, later when I was speaking to someone down at the concert about it they said they had a Killdeer nest by their camping ground in the parking lot and they had marked off the nest and put up some simple ropes so no one would step on it. Per wikipedia Killdeer Nesting They live in grassland habitats such as fields, meadows, and pastures.[13] The nest itself is merely a shallow depression or bowl in the ground, fringed by some stones and blades of grass.[14] The nest is well camouflaged, as the spots of the eggs disguise them as stones, and the simple structure of the nest resembles its surroundings.[15] Like many other waders, Killdeer hatchlings are precocial birds and are able to see and forage soon after hatching. Those eggs look delicious. All of a sudden I'm very hungry. I bet killdeer are tasty. If they're half as good as Panda or Bald Eagle they'll just be, well, delicious.

Why is that a deer you killed I'm talking about the birds, look the hunters that use GPS, thermal scopes every piece of technology all losers, I have lived in CA and loved the bike in the mountains I've come face to face with mountain lions, bob cats, being chased down hill by a mountain lion was a memory that I will never forget he or she almost got me on Saint Josephs loop in Los Gatos CA, I love nature and I'm not about to kill anything unless I'm going to eat it and also I need to eat it. Our planet is being destroyed most of the climate change is due to deforestation and destruction of our rainforest, the less trees the more the planet grows colder and colder and then a ice age no more humans and those seeds that last beyond a ice age restart with no more humans when the plague of man kinds is gone, were not all bad so Conserve and love nature keep only one car in your life, grow garden, plant all over black berry and raspberry bushes so he birds have food, Id do it make everything a paradise ! Every life is special not just humans from a the protozoa to the whale every life has a Karma be lived out ! Be peaceful and respect nature or it will bite you !
