I had a 2004 Sebring I had been driving for a few years. Lastyear I got a tad nervous. I had gone thru hunter from Canada, and headed to Walmart in Catskill.... Figured I'd be a goner... scary ride.

When I was a kid we would walk up that road in a blizzard, being chanced by a polar bear, bare foot.........

Ahhhh...thank you so much much for that driving advice....I'll be pulling a 21 ft Airstream. That would have been totally sketchy for me.Coming from Eastern CT. Can't wait!!

We are planning on getting to MJ on Thursday morning. When we drive in, are we going to be able to choose where we get to car camp in Hunter 1,2,3 or do they make you go in order of entry?

I have no clue.... as a festival evolves, the plans change, as more people choose different methods of camping, their instructions to the volunteers who guide us in change. Like any other festival, its going to be a crap shoot....

I expect I will know before the festival, I too can't bank on that.

I just hope there is no issue with space when it comes to car camping. I am not trying to takeover or anything, just want to make sure that I get what I pay for with car camping. I measured out 10x30 and I just hope we get it.

Yeah 10 x 30 isn't much our group however is so big that we can spill over into each others spaces.

Hey does anyone know about the MountainTop Car Camping? I just scored 2 Passes for up there and I'm just curious as to how we are going to get up there...I have a Subaru so I should be fine but my friend has some Honda and I don't remember seeing a road all the way up there...

23A is going to be fun this year. Last year we hauled our camper up it but this year we'll be on trikes!

You shouldn't have a problem with getting up to the mountain top car camping, the RVs make it up there.

any good tips for the friday morning car camper? entrance is at 10? what time should i aim for on arriving?

I would want to be there and in line as early as possible waiting for the gate to open and having a beverage.

Im not car camping just regular tent camping, I know they recently changed everything around and in prior years no one was allowed to bring the car up so everyone parked in the same area. And now you can if you buy a pass or you can buy a pass to be closer to a lot where your car is. I chose none of the options so I guess I'll be parking in a lot way off the site, there's a shuttle I heard? Anyways, when I get there will they tell me where I can park my car? If it's not on the site, how will I know how to get there...

There will be signs directing you to the off-site lots, and there will indeed be a shuttle.
