Wakarusa has a sick ass lineup this year. Check it out if you haven't yet. www.wakarusa.com/artist-lineup/You have SCI, UM, Flaming Lips, STS9, Edward Sharpe, John Butler Trio, Xavier Rudd, Dr. Dog, Franti, Bassnectar, Lettuce, Black Joe Lewis, J Roddy Walston, Reignwolf, Revivalists, Kung Fu, Murder By Death and a ton of others. Well done Wakarusa.

Waka has some good acts on the top of the bill. However, I think the middle of the lineup is fairly weak for Wakarusa(compare 2011.) I'm sure they spent a lot on SCI but it's worth it. I've always that all Waka was missing was Cheese. But this year will be the Allman's last year touring, and if they are the TBA headliner it will solidify Mountain Jam having the best lineup this year. Ratdog, Allman's, Mule, trampled, beats antique, DSO. Not taking anything away from Wakarusa. That is an amazing place in the Ozarks. If you have the means to go, go. Just be ready for a foot of mud and tornadoes, or 105 degrees with no escape from the sun!

I'm not going, I just like the lineup. I disagree with you about it being weak in the middle. I think it's pretty deep. I'm not bashing MJ's lineup. It is solid and there's still more to come. There are just a lot of bands that I've been wanting to see at Waka. Another one is Shaky Knees in Atlanta. Sick looking festival and it's only the 2nd year. Check out that lineup. Pretty impressive. I will be at Mountain Jam though. It's my home away from home.

Shaky Knees looks good, but no camping! I'm bias towards Electric Forest because it is the perfect venue for a festival but the EDM scene is just not my favorite so I want to do a more laid back festival this year. I live near Chicago so Summer Camp is the closest. Wakarusa was about 11 hours away. My favorite festival so far was All Good in West Virginia. I hope they bring that back. I've never seen ABB, and never been to Mountain Jam so things are aligning for the drive out. I'm really excited to see what Mountain Jam is all about! Going back to the thread, Wakarusa is great because: Wednesday Arrival with prime camping Close proximity to all stages It's in the Ozark Mountains Music goes till 7am String Cheese

You will love Mtn Jam. Great people with a good overall vibe and always amazing music. Camping on the mountain makes it unique. This will be my 4th year and so far we've had a better time each year. Even last year, with all the damn rain, people getting tents broken into allegedly and security all over the place, I thought it was an awesome vibe. I didn't see too much firsthand of the bad stuff that other people experienced, so that didn't bother me. The rain just made it more memorable. It's your first time seeing Allmans too, so that should be really sick. They will prob play 2 sets Sunday night and should be epic. Only about 3 months away!
