Hey this'll be my first mountain jam. So, I wanted to know how much space there will be for camping. I know it's a 10x10 spot, but are there so many people that we're packed in real tight?

So you can go ahead and find your own space. You will be all good and NO, they don't JAM you in.... just make sure to mark your territory.

Basic advice is to always make friends with your neighbors.... so......Please don't mark your territory the way dogs do......... It can get a bit crowded but they have never had people marking spaces out with tape measures or anything like that. The only issue I can recall is setting up too close to one of the fences on the edge of the camp area. Security wanted people further off the fence presumably so we wouldn't burrow a tunnel under it and import an illegal housecleaner or cabana boy. |

For car camping, you're supposed to get 10'x30' per car.

no but what about for tent camping.. how do u measure how much space u have? by group or by person?

For tent camping, you can take as much space as you want within reason. Those that arrive early usually have better choices in spots and space. I suggest staking out your tent site, then just mark off additional space for chairs, coolers, tables, etc so you don't feel cramped in. If you are with a group, do the same thing for each tent. Here's a pic from a few years ago to give you an idea about how to space things. Hope it helps!  |
