Sorry to say me and the boys won't be attending this year. Its just getting too expensive. Mountain top camping now you have to pay a premium to park by the fence! Instead of first come first serve. Will be looking for other events.I will really miss the music and great people I have met over the years.

It used to be we mocked those that splurged for the VIP tickets. Now the regular cost of the trip is what VIP used to be.
OMG! We have become the elitists!

What is with the 36.00 in fees. I think a lot of people are shying away from MTN Jam due to the price gouging.

If it upticks one more time I am seriously looking at booking a band to play at my community clubhouse instead. Last year we found a fishing cabin we were ready to pull the trigger on for less money. (No we don't fish).
Playing Townsquare's advocate...
Supply and demand; the space only handles 10-15,000 people. Fixed supply and static or increased demand. Granted for every loyal customer lost, they can be easily replaced by two one timers following the Black Keys (I think is where I apologize to any Keys fans, I should really wait to see them before I continue to bash them, but they are the weakest link to me) MJ does not have the space to expand- so prices rise.
Market trends; Other fests have continued to expand VIP services. It is the way of the progress, and customer expectations of basic provisions have increased. I remember MJ 4 us being excited for extra Porto-Johns in riverside parking instead of peeing in the woods in the poison sumac... and then the bank of Porto-lets inside MJ6... these days we want them clean too... now we get the little sink stations with paper towels and soap. We complain about muddy bluerooms with no TP at 4AM after Pretty Lights. MJ is not expensive relative, not a deal any longer...
It is a business; MJ was never 100% about the music otherwise WDST would be a nonprofit like the mighty WJFF out of Jeffersonville with hydropower (check out the DeepEnd hosted by someone that has attended all 11 MJs). I would imagine the sale to TS allowed Gary to cash a check (which he deserves), keep WDST out of the clutches of ClearChannel, and spread the risk of investment out. In exchange the investors need the dividends back.
We can only hope that the break point is recognized before they ruin it totally and can abide.

REALLY......85.00 to park in your lot. 75.00 for car camping. SHAME on you promoters for trying to RAPE us all with all these extra fees. Will be traveling now to see MULE instead of your crazy antics.

Satellite parking is still free or cheap. Car camping used up the free parking spaces. Limited supply + high demand+ high price. Car camp.
