3G works well, Good cell connections as far as my experience with virgin mobile. I bring and I'm bringing a metal mesh colander put your cell phone in it and its a directional antenna and can bring in a better single if your in a bad area, it has to be metal and mesh not holes. Cell phone antennas for cars really work well, they pull in several bars when without the car cell phone antenna there are no bars. - Also back your phone up, backup your contacts, transfer as many files off your phone so you can fill it up with pictures and video, bring your earphones so you can hear what people are saying on your phone while it's noisy.

If I remember correctly you can charge your phone at the lodge. There are outlets there along the wall, I remember seeing some people doing this. I usually get service by the entrance and that's it. I have AT&T

As far as charging up the phone....I got a solar cell phone charger that works great. You can also get a mophie for the iPhone which will give you an additional 6 hours of talking time. Just make sure you charge it up before heading out.

I have AT&T Besides the charging station they have - which costs $ - there are outlets throughout the lodge. Best to go in the morning and hang there with some coffee when less people are around.
