Does anyone know which lot (Hunter 1, 2 or 3) they are going to corral cars into first?
My friends and I are planning to get there around 2 on Thursday and are hoping not to get stuck in Hunter 3. Hunter 3 looks like its much smaller and higher up the mountain than the other 2 car camping lots. We're wondering if it would be wise to get there earlier in the day to avoid Hunter 3, but then we were also thinking that they might fill Hunter 3 first because its up the mountain and surrounded by GA tent camping....
Anyone know??

Who ever gets car camping 3 just got mountain top car camping for free, the Mountain Top car camping was to the side of Mountain Top RV camping now its on both sides, the new side if it's the place I remember is surrounded by tall trees not much sun, I hope they fill that last, the best spot is the old pre pitched quality tent area but it's what ever you get I guess. I have a friend who is aiming for Hunter car camping lot 3 he's getting their thursday at around noon, don't know if he will get a choice or there will be room. I hope they give us some choice if we get on line at in the AM I'm aiming for the old pre pitched quality tent area.

Are you saying if you have a 3 travel pass (the dashboard markers emailed yesterday) that they are putting Car Campers in Mountaintop because that is what it sounds like you are stating. |

Are you saying if you have a 3 travel pass (the dashboard markers emailed yesterday) that they are putting Car Campers in Mountaintop because that is what it sounds like you are stating. No. They will be checking your ticket at the gate as well. Its just that they are using one gate for ALL vehicles (except for Jammer Car Camping) and the other printed out tickets are for if you are keeping your car there or off-site. Almost everyone in a vehicle will go through the same gate, but then once you're there they'll also check your tickets. |

Are you saying the car camping passes specify what lot their in ? What about Mountain top car camping do you know what lots are filled first ?

Just got a message from the Mountain Jam Facebook page "You will be assigned a spot. All spots are 10X30 but they are not marked". So basically, they line up in the order of arrival. There are the Travel Passes which should break up the amount of lines and time in those lines. Im optimistic about our chances of having a nice flat spot in Hunter 1 or 2. We camped in the lower part of it in 2012 and there are some great spots. I have also heard that Hunter 3 is pretty sweet as well.

If I wanted to play roulette I would have stuck with my car camping pass instead of buying mountain top passes 2 weeks ago...And no I'm sure its just order you're put in. Would be suchh a hassle to have to "wait" for people to show up. That would cause a serious mess! |

Sorry, Lucasbeard is wrong. Hunter 3 is not near that area.... if you come at 2 on Thursday, you will be as close as you can be to the venue. welcome to mountain jam!
