Hey there everyone! I am a first time Mountain Jammer and their website seems to be in seriously lack of a FAQ! I am trying to figure out what to expect camping wise? My crew is not getting in until super late Friday night. Is there a certain time they will close down the Will Call booth and camping entrance? Or will I be able to pick my tickets up at 1am?
Also, is there some sort of check point between camping and the music? Do they check wristbands or something? One person in my crew mistakenly bought day passes, not knowing we needed to camp. Now they are saying he can't camp and can't swap or upgrade his tickets. If we car camp, can he still come with us? Will they throw him out?
Any info would be soooo helpful! Thanks in advance!

I can answer the second part of your question. Yes, there is security posted between the campgrounds and the concert itself, but I've generally found it to be pretty lax. In past years I've been able to enter camping areas with a day pass, but of course there's no guarantee that will always be the case.
I'm curious as to who told your friend that he couldn't upgrade his ticket. Many other people have done so successfully by calling the ticketing company, Front Gate Tickets. Of course your friend will have to pay the difference, but it's still better than buying a whole new ticket.

I would try to arrive before 1 am. If someone in the crew is coming before then, you may be able to hold some space with tarps, just let your neighbors know ow many are in the crew and the amount of tents that will be set up.

Thank you for the info!
We called today (the ticketing company) and they said we couldn't upgrade and 4-day camping passes were sold out -- tho according to the website, that's not correct. It seemed like if we called back and pestered enough then we could get it worked out.

The ticket company said that since he had only bought 2 day passes, he was not allowed to upgrade to a camping pass. However, they also told us 4-day-camping passes and 3-day-camping passes were sold out, but that does not seem to be correct according to the MtJam website. I'm sure if we call and harass them enough they will let him switch. Whoever I talked to was definitely a jerk though -- he said there was absolutely no way for him to upgrade to camping, all the hotels were probably sold out, and he can't have a refund...

Strange. I've never heard of anyone having such an issue before, especially when willing to spend more money, lol. I wonder if you'd get different results if you call again and speak to a different person.
