I am doing regular tent camping this year- no car camping for me. I'm leaving it off site and catching the shuttle. My question is do they search my belongings when I am carrying them up the mountain, or do they search my car when I get to the site? And how thoroughly do they search? I've been to MTN Jam but never camped, I remember the security being pretty tough when you walk in the entrance, patting me down EVERYWHERE and they confiscated some things. But if I am carrying my stuff up the mountain in a wagon will they stop me at the camping ground entrance/ regular entrance and search my stuff in my wagon?

They will search your wagon at the entrance to the campground. So that may include opening your cooler, your backpack, etc. They will also confiscate hammers or any metal sledges you typically need to help you stake your tent in rocky terrain. Just pack smart.

I agree with Tentgirl. Be smart, also, it all depends on who you get.... it could be as easy as what Tentgirl said or it could be more invasive. it all depends on who you get, the frustration levels of the attendees, and the frustration levels of the volunteers.

No glass move any spirits over to a plastic container, bring in only cans no bottles, no charcoal fires must be propane or such, I'm bringing a rug this year they have indoor outdoor rugs at Costco for $15 there 8*10 feet. Check that your inspection sticker is up to date and make sure your car looks safe, remember it's against the law to look at your phone while driving and don't text and drive. Plan on opening your trunk and maybe a duffle bag for the security for campers ,Don't forget to look out for that bird that nest on the ground up there the killdeer - mountainjam.proboards.com/thread/26/bird-lays-nest-on-ground
