Hey all!! Thanks in advance for your help and experience!
Regarding Mountain top Car camping...how is the terrain? I realize it is a skip slope, but I camped at the Peach and it was really rough. > does it happen to be a little more level up there?? > is there any transport up and down the hill throughout the weekend (down to the stages and back up the the camping area)? I'm sure I'll have follow up questions, but its a start!
At the Peach I really wish I had toured the whole area before choosing where to camp for the weekend. I'd like some insight. We are all able bodied adults but would like to pick a relatively level, close (to stages) but dont want to die hiking up and down the mountain....

Mountaintop car camping used to where Premium RV's camped - so it's fairly level. There are festival taxis available for gear transport or for those who are disabled.

Awesome!! Thanks so much!
So, how strict are they with the 10x30 thing?? Can you fit a vehicle and two tents?? For example, a Large tent and a small tent?

Car camping was pretty much a free for all last year- no organization like some of the other fests I;ve been to. Family campground? Special needs? Forget it.
If you don't get there Thursday, you're pretty much screwed as far as a spot goes.

Went in 2012. Camped in what is now Hunter 2 and it was flat. We arrived early morning Friday and had no trouble finding a spot.

Can anyone tell me how the walk is from mountaintop car camping down to the lodge? Is there a path besides the one in front of the vendors. One of my buddy's is in his early sixties, still gets around pretty good, just worried that up and down the hill all weekend might be a lot on him. Thanks .

If he can get around ok, he will be good! Lots of stuff to look at too so it's not like he is bolting from top to bottom.. you will love the fest, great times for sure.

the slope is not bad, anywhere really, except you have to pay attention to the waterflow ruts in the ground so you don't pitch your tent in what will be a river if it rains, the car camping area was not to strict but you will probably have to put up your big tent and put the small one underneath, which will serve you well with the rain. there is a main road through the middle, we call shakedown street, camping close to it will ensure not walking up or down much, but the noise and traffic make it not the best place to be. I saw some really creative shelters built around the cars last year so, put some thought to it and have fun

Bing maps has the best view, choose Birds Eye View and you can see the Mountaintop Car Camping area as a photo, it's the old Premium Pre Pitched Tent area. There is a road that leads up and its does have a path that goes down by the Food Truck area I believe. Security got out of hand last year, people were getting ripped off, no one was caring about security of tents just lots of pat downs and grab crazy looking to confiscate any drugs so they could pocket them it seems and some cheap feels from some of the male security feeling girls and guys just about out of control I made some videos of people all eyeing up a few of the security guys at a checkpoint entering the concert and saying NO-WAY, everyone was standing on the lines with normal security, the TSA does less of a pat down than some of the security guys at these spots they were all white security guards with the over zealous pat downs or what should be called first base ! Most of the security has been good over the years I never had a problem and they have always been easy to talk to and nice people, last year it was like kids trying to act as cops and they brought in the wrong crowd of security someone put a lot of hate of hippies in that team of security please don't do that this year or people will not come back, please comb through who is working and no kids acting like cops or getting off on power trips and easy feels or hassles !

What a Debby Downer........ If you have all these videos then post them. I am sure MJ would like to take a look at them so that the problem can be addressed. If not keep trolling you seem to be good at it.
