Its growing on me. Like that there is still a headliner to be added. Batting second too, which leads me to think it's allman bros. Wonder how long its gonna take them to release who it is. Im sure alot of people, including myself, are hingeing whether they are going or not on the band to be named later. Even with a few more solid mid to bottom tier additions, a truly epic headliner is needed for this lineup to be special. Lets hope we get it.

Umph and Dark Star are both Thursday. The last HL is pretty much guaranteed to be Allman - the blurred out picture on the site/app is exactly like a pic of the Allman.
I'm a little underwhelmed. I was really hoping for some String Cheese or My Morning Jacket. There isn't much funk, the Avett booking is uninspired, and Pretty Lights is at every festival, I've probably seen him 5 times. I was really looking forward to a more up and coming electronic act (similar to Big Gigantic last year).

Adding SCI and another night of Mule would do it for me. With the stages being separated I am less excited about Mt Jam this year.

I've only been going for a few years and my FAVORITE bands have been ones I didn't really know prior to the lineup announcement (and downloading on Zune Pass). The 4onthefloor, Anders Osborne (soooooooooooooo glad he's back), Lukas Nelson, Soulive, Deertick (had heard about their live "antics", but never heard their stuff before and loved them), Uncle Lucius, The Sheepdogs, etc. Hoping to find a few new favorite bands in the line up (early front runners - Chris Robinson Brotherhood, Blitzen Trapper, Citizens Band Radio, and Lucius). Really happy to see Umphrey's McGee and Anders...but beyond that, it's not blowing me away just yet. I'd imagine Soulive and/or Lettuce and/or AE3 will be added and that will make me very happy. Definitely need some Royal Family representation there! Upset to see that DBT, Grace Potter, Sheepdogs, 4onthefloor, Carbon Leaf, The Alternate Routes, The London Souls or Ben Folds (with or without the 5) aren't returning. My pipe dreams of David Byrne, Local H, Scott Lucas and the Married Men, Guster, Mike Cooley and/or Patterson Hood Solo, Stephen Kellogg, Eels or E or MC Honky aren't showing up. Still plenty of time for a few of them to show up Really interested to see how this develops and if any of my wishes are fulfilled. Ha ha ha. EDIT: Oh, and Duo De Twang! Plan on catching them in Woodstock next month and have been watching everything I can on You Tube. And Boombox, I know they do all kinds of Festivals...but I've missed them thus far.

C'mon guys it's def gonna be Allman Bros as the last headliner spot. I would be a lot of money on it. And for those who aren't pumped for that you're nuts. It's the last of ABB as we know them with Warren & Derek leaving. They will leave it all on the stage. They may even break up the band for good. One of the best live bands ever, gonna be sick!
I liked the lineup but didn't love it at first but the more I look at it, the more I like it. With the addition of ABB & about 10 more bands I think it's gonna be really solid. I am kinda with the one poster who said he'd rather have Wilco & the Crowes rather than Tweedy & CRB but both should be interesting. Not really sure what to expect with solo Tweedy & CRB, except that they will be really good. The lineup isn't really what I expected but that is good. I do really hope they add Robert Randolph & Family Band & Felice Bros. If they added them 2 and no one else I would be elated. Really stoked to see who else they do add. Usually it's around early Feb no?
Besides the obvious, I'm really looking forward to Blitzen Trapper. They should be impressive. How 'bout Jackie Greene late night? I'm loving that. I missed Tedeschi Trucks last time they were on the mountain. That won't happen again. I saw Trampled By Turtles twice. They will bring a lot of energy to the mountain. Never saw Pretty Lights. Besides STS9 they are prob the late night electronic act that I most want to see. Looks pretty crazy. Haven't listened to much Chris Robinson Brotherhood so that should be interesting. I gotta do my homework on them. Same with Tweedy solo. I like Wilco a lot but haven't heard much of him solo. I checked his setlists and he mixes in quite a few Wilco tunes. D.Marley should be fun. Avetts & Franti are always a blast. I hear many people complaining about them since they are always there, but they bring energy, good vibes and Franti brings the sun, so we need him there. Umphrey's Thursday night for a couple sets should be a great way to jump it off. It's debatable whether they measure up to Primus last year. We'll have to see after they play. Big shoes there. Happy Anders is back as well, since i missed him in 2011. Dark Star & Sister Sparrow will bring it also! Haven't checked out many of the smaller billed bands yet but i'm on it. I checked out Reignwolf briefly and he will blow minds, just from the small sample size I saw of him. Sorta like a SIMO type dirty guitar guy. Oh yea, almost forgot to mention Bob Weir. Haven't seen him in about 10 years so, yea that should be fun. I can see him sitting in with Mule or maybe even Tweedy for a few songs. So it's looking like ABB:Sunday, Mule:Sat, Ratdog:Fri & Umphs: Thur. Would love to see ABB Saturday instead but doubt it. That would be better though in my opinion. Mule will be great, but they should close out the 10th year anniversary. I bet they add another late night act too.

More I look at, the more I can't see anyone other then ABB as the Sunday headliner. With warren and derrick leaving, both their bands already on the bill, etc. Probably only reason they didn't announce it yet is they dont want it to negatively affect the beacon runs ticket sales. Maybe the thought is, if they announce they are playing the jam peeps that were thinking of going to the beacon might pass on tix cause now they know they can catch them on the mountain in June. This is a business after all.

They announced the Lumineers last year like a week after the initial lineup came out, separately, before they added the rest of the bands. I wonder if they will do that again with ABB or another band.

I was wrong about that. The initial last year was Jan 16. Lumineers were Feb 5. And the rest were announced on Feb 26. Here are the rest who were announced later last year:
Michael Franti and Spearhead, Big Gigantic, THE GASLIGHT ANTHEM, Conspirator (Official), White Denim, The London Souls, Holy Ghost! (DJ Set), Kung Fu, FUTUREBIRDS and more!
So if this year's is anywhere near that it's gonna be pretty badass! Futurebirds were one of my favs.
One more thing, I have been checking out some of the lesser known bands. My favs so far are Reignwolf(this dude is serious serious talent), Moon Taxi, The Weeks & Jonathan Wilson. Antabalas & Valerie June are very very good too. One of the best things about MJ are discovering bands like these! I did know about Antabalas & Moon Taxi before but never have seen either. We are going to be in for a treat with these bands. I have only seen a little so far and am very impressed. I will keep checking out more and giving updates as we get closer. The Dough Rollers & The Treetop Flyers sound pretty damn good too. I gotta hear more.

People will complain. I am sad I missed last year. Never had anything but positive experiences at Mountain Jam. I have friends that would say the same. Great festival. Not happy about the price, but when we look back on it, price wont matter. Beautiful setting and I will be interested to see how it has evolved since 2012. We have been to Christmas Jam a few times and have been long standing fans of anything Warren Haynes has a hand in.
I am very satisfied with this lineup and will be buying tickets at 10 am today.
If I was gonna put money on the additional headliner, Id go with ABB, maybe with Dickey Betts? Maybe Cheese, which I think would be amazing. As for additional middle tier, I could see Keller, The Chocolate Drops would be awesome.
Now, if the headliner worked out to be Panic, I might pass out.

I am resigned to the fact that ABB will probably be the other headliner. Just wish it would be someone else! The ABB are already playing SO many festivals(Wanee,Peach,Lock'n) this will just make the 10th Mountain Jam line-up too similar to all the others! And dont hold your breath for Dickie Betts! I doubt he will be there after the way they split. The only good thing in my opinion is that if they are there it will hopefully be the end and all these Festivals will HAVE to get more diverse next year!

The line up looks pretty good. It just doesn't have the wow factor that last years had. I bought my ticket during presale, no way I will miss Mt Jam. I'm willing to bet that Allman Brothers is the next headliner to be announced.

If you check the allmans web site, in the blurb about the peach festival it says the following: this will be the only performance by the brothers this summer in pa/nj. Doesn't say ny, which to me means they are a lock for mtn jam. And im happy about it. The previous poster said they didn't like it cause they are at other fests too. I get it but to me that only matters if you were going to the others too. I can only swing one fest a year and for the last 3 its been mtn jam. So personally I'd be ecstatic to see the bros. Especially with their future up in the air. As for the people that want wsp, I watched every second of their set last year. Was decent but repetitive to me. I dont get their mass appeal. To each their own though. I dont judge.

My point was that Mountain Jam will look like SO many other festivals with ABB added. The ABB already have 2 of their OWN festivals. we only get to 1 maybe 2 festivals a year. mountain Jam is our favorite. Went to lock'n last year and besides the cluster fuck of trafffic the first day it was great! but if you look at the line up for this years lock'n it has ABB,WSP 2x,Ratdog 2x and Phil and friends 2x and no doubt TTB and Warren Haynes in some form or another it will be almost a repeat of last years line-up. ABB/Mule/TTB/WSP could just go on the road the whole summer as a traveling festival and then there would be plenty of openings in the other Fests for some new blood. just saying. Still going and the only positive thing if ABB is there is that it will almost definitely be the LAST time I see them EVER! Unless of course the are at some OTHER festival that I decide to go to! But it doesnt look like we will be doing Lock'n again this year. might try out the Lunar Bay festival which just started last year and is only like 1/2 hr from our house. see you all on the mountain!

The Peach Music Festival has said on Facebook that the Allman's stop at The Peach is the only Northeast appearance for them.

The Peach Music Festival has said on Facebook that the Allman's stop at The Peach is the only Northeast appearance for them. Not necessarily true. they stated it would be their only 2-night festival appearance in the northeast. 1 night at Mountain Jam means they aren't lying, and pretty much confirms them IMO.
