I see we will have fireworks again, this time between the MULE sets.
Maybe a cover of "Fire on the Mountain"?
Way to reinvest some of that investment loot.

Goodness, for people to complain about Fireworks..... 15 minutes out of the night... is just a TAD Sad....
I know this discussion HAS been beaten to death on the other board but the celebration of Mountain Jam for thousands of people who come to this wonderful town, spend their hard earned money, and revenues built.... I'd be far more concerned about other things than 15 minutes of loud booms of Fireworks.
If Mountain Jam were playing their cards right, they would let the residents of Hunter know what time the fireworks were going to commence. And this should have been done the last time people complained.

I hope people bring Chinese Lanterns again. I remember in 2010 people let off a bunch of them after Mule's 2nd set and I just remember thinking about how awesome it was to watch those fly and float away behind the mountains

This exact debate caused such heat a few years ago on the other forum.... its like beating a dead horse.
I think as long as MJ organizers are safe in how they proceed, and announce to the people living in Hunter, then let the fireworks happen. It wasn't the middle of the night, it was between the headliner and the latenight act.

So - the middle of the night to them is not the same to me.. I'm not arguing that they shouldn't do it.. I'm just telling you why it was a big deal in town that year. Lot's of people complained.. Dogs were afraid and ran away.. All kinds of things.. Having it earlier in the evening is a good thing.. I'm glad it's back..

Except they are a bit difficult to deal with when your a bit "banged up" and the things are not taking off correctly.. I swore one just kept coming back to me after the guy let it go... I just wanted to hide from it.. haha.

The break at the main act, would be an absolutely perfect time. Definitely agree with that!!

The break at the main act, would be an absolutely perfect time. Definitely agree with that!! It's a win win... and some of the older folks in the valley can enjoy seeing them too and join in on the fun...

All I remember is my friend didn't see people let them off cuz he went into the lodge and he was a little "banged up" himself at the moment and came sprinting to our group boarderline yelling "DO YOU SEE THAT?!" Convinced it was aliens or something until we calmly explained to him they're freaking lights haha

I seem to recall letting a lantern go and then thinking, "Hmmmm maybe letting fire flying into the forest is not a good idea."
