How has the insect, mosquito and tick situation been on the mountain in the past?
I would imagine it's pretty tame being it's relatively still cool temp wise

Never felt any bugs and didn't need bug spray.

Never had an issue with bugs.
I remember way back at MJ 3 before they added many portajohns my brother asking in the middle of number one, "Hey? What's poison shoemack look like?"
Annnnnnnnnnnnnd of course, face to face with a black bear.
"Me and my friend did LSD in the woods, because in the woods, there is a lot less of a chance that you will run into an authority figure. But we ran into a bear, and that is alot more of a buzzkill." - Mitch Hedburg RIP

Don't walk through the forested areas between ski runs without long pants. Our friend came home with lime disease last year. He was fine but the ticks are out there!

Ticks are the main thing.. We don't really have too many mosquitos in the Catskills. But there is a lot of standing water from the snowpack melt. There is a new bear lurking about.. So be careful with that.. Keep your food locked up.. Select a campsite where your not against the woods.. Let someone else tent get ransacked... Remember the mama bear and cubs a couple years ago... Seeing the mother run away from the campground with a huge watermellon in her mouth.. Cubs running behind her...
