Looking to find out the pros and cons of the different car camping options, i.e.: why is Mountain Top Car Camping so much more expensive than Hunter Car Camping? Never been there, but this is what I'm seeing as possible reasons...1) With Mountain Top you get a direct view of the stage looking down, 2) In case of rain, less chance of your campsite getting drowned out if in Mountain Top. Did I miss anything? It looks like the non-VIP shower is closer to Hunter. Is there a shower up by Mountain Top? Hunter is closer to the Lodge, which could make that area a bit more convenient, right?. Does the ski lift bring you up and down from the Mountain Top camping to the lower area? Or do you have to walk to and from? So in a nutshell - is Mountain Top worth the extra $$? What's your thoughts... Thanks!

Unless you get the front row spots up top, you really can't see the stage from your tent...but you see it through a fence if you walk down a little ways. I think the sights might be slightly larger on Mt Top. I could be wrong, but the year we did it, it suuuuure seemed like we had a lot more room. You can hear the music absolutely fine from your tent, and it's a much more chill/quiet area at night with minimal foot traffic walking by your tent and tripping on shit. The port-a-potties are on the cleaner side since there's less usage of them and the walk to the stage is really quick. It kinda sucks in that they keep it really closed off since you exit directly into the stage area so if you want to go use the facilities in the lodge in the middle of the night or go get coffee early in the morning, you have to take the LONG and pretty much unmarked trek down and back. It rained a lot when we were up there...and there was/is a good foundation of grass there so it won't stain all your stuff with the maroon clay like in the other areas. The showers aren't really any closer or anything like that. The one big plus, at least 2 years ago, was that you can grill at your camp site. Chair lift to Mt Top? Ha ha ha. Sorry, but had to laugh at that one. Mt Top is basically "hilltop". You camp above the bunny slope that is the main stage area. It's nowhere near even the the lowest chair lift area. Parts of general camping and carside camping are actually higher than Mt Top (albeit waaaay off to the side).

Personally I prefer to camp with RV. I know it's more comfortable and you don't feel "the real nature" but I like it. But I hear many stories about problems with roofs and I faced it too. But after RV Roof Repair I never had it again. SO, if you didn't have this then you should think and worry about it now.
