The wait is over! We’re excited to announce the first headliners for our 2017 lineup - Rock & Roll Hall of Famers Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, and Steve Miller Band. They will be joined on the Mountain Jam stage by Peter Frampton, Gary Clark Jr., Michael Franti & Spearhead, St. Paul & The Broken Bones, The Strumbellas, Shovels & Rope, The Revivalists, The Infamous Stringdusters, White Denim, Elephant Revival, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, and River Whyless.

Are tents allowed in the RV area? My thought is to load up group in an RV and then pitch a few tents around since there might not be room for everyone to sleep in RV. Also, do the Mountain Top RV/Car Camping have a view of the stage ??

I'd catch Miller, Petty, Frampton. Stringdusters and Lukas is cool.
No MULE? That would answer the questions of is it really over.
Dad rocky... yes. Not the direction of the last two years, though.
The date still doesn't work and there is no way that I would deal with the VIP section set up from last year.
Verdict right now: The Mayor of Mtn. Jam is out. The first two time miss since MJ 1 and 2.

Missed the last two years because I saw what was coming with Townsquare. Did 6 years in a row before that with 8 friends. The last year just two of us.
Best were the first two years of 4 day. (Really three and a half). Thursday afternoon was set up camp and meet the neighbors. Thursday Night was party in the lodge. Almost a private show for camping crowd. Many headliners jumping on stage with the lesser bands.
Then afternoons on the mountain. Everybody happy and smiling. Topless women. Families. Babies. No drunks. No fights. Back to camp for eats and a nap. Back to the mountain for sundown shows. A quick trip back to camp to reload then Headliner time! A little late night partying then back to camp for sleep if the ear plugs could mask the damned bongo players!
Sunday night the "BIG SHOW" then stagger back to camp. Mon morn pack up and sadly go home.
Now it's all a sweet but sad memory......
I'd like to catch this line up but I know I'd hate everything else. Staying on Long Island and will go to the Great South Bay Music Festival. 15 Min drive from home. Park 5 min walk from venue. Set up chair. Breath the Ocean Air. Great music with home town crowd right on the bay. Sun goes down. Moon comes up. The Light House flashes across the bay. Drive home and sleep in my own nice quiet bed.
Maybe Mule will come to OUR Festival.........

What happened to the "Jam"? Not the festival it started out as and generally held true to for a good 8 to 10 year run as a great jam band event. Unfortunately, it has quickly become a VIP-catered, commercialized Disneyfest. Friends and I have attended 8 MJs over the years up to 2015, but I doubt I'll ever return, Mule or not. Too bad.

I'm willing to bet that Mule will be there. No dice. You also have the Mountain Jam coming up in the summer next year. I’m not sure if I’m gonna be part of Mountain Jam this year. I think I have schedule conflicts for that. |
