Happy April Fools Day, jammers!
This will be my 3rd Mountain Jam, but my first time camping. Of all the places not currently sold out (near car camping, tent camping, and Hunter car camping), where is the "best" place to camp? I'm looking to be close to the music and party with awesome neighbors!
Also - any tips on what to bring for a great camping experience on the mountain? I've camped other festivals but as I said, this will be my first time camping at MJ.
Thanks so much!

I liked car camping because I could store everything "valuable" in my car and haul everything up the mountain with my car.

Flat space can be hard to find for your tent so a good air mattress or cot can go a long way to help your sleeping situ. If you're one of the "drop and pass out" types, that may not be an issue. I prefer a cot cause I can free up floor space in the tent by shoving all my other stuff under it.
As far as the "best" place to camp goes, I'd say there are really no bad places n terms of easy access to venue and lodge - Therefore, the best place is wherever your friends are.

car camping is pretty close to the venue and mostly on flat ground. if you get there on thursday you can usually snag a semi flat spot on the first slope directly next to the music

I camp up by the watering hole every year, but I'm 28 and our crew is all within 3-5 years of me so we don't mind hiking all the way to the top of the camping area. Its great cover for rain/heat, but you don't get that beautiful view of the mountains that you would on the slope

Car camping is where it's at. Like someone else said its great for locking up valuables, but it's also great to keep things dry and if God forbid it really pours you can jump in a nice dry car. Also you don't have to lug everything up the mountain.
