Hi, We're coming for all four days and got the VIP (plain) camping tickets. Can anyone tell me if there will be water spigots for cooking and dish cleaning? Also, will we be able to purchase ice later in the festival to replace what's melted? thanks! any suggestions for a middle-aged newbie much appreciated.

Plenty of water stations to collect water to wash your gear back at your camp and there are a few ice vendors and for a fee they will drive it to your camp.
As for tips. If you review the last few year's posts , they are chock full of tips and help

1. Get there early so you can find a level spot for your tent 2. Find a level spot for your tent 3. Get there early... 4. ...so you can find a level spot and set up your tent 5. Tarps! There are always torrential rains and the mountain is red clay dirt that will stain all your stuff. You'll want a tarp under your tent, possibly one ON your tent if it gets really bad, and one to put your stuff on outside so it doesn't permanently turn red. 6. MP3 player and headphones - there WILL be some tripping asshole yelling and screaming near your tent all night at some point. Earplugs help, but you need more. 7. Fans and blankets...and even more blankets. There may be a night your tent is 90 degrees, followed by a night you can see your breathe. You're on a mountain and the temperature swings can be intense. You need to prep for both horrible heat and bone chilling cold. Even if you are a hippy that walks around barefoot all night, you'll still need some warm socks on standby. Storms with crazy temperature fluctuations blow right over the mountain and can wreck your night. Last year it got so cold one night that it was snowing in our tent...our breathe was rising to the top of the tent and freezing and falling down as ice particles. Something like this might turn out to be a waste of money, but if you end up needing them, they'll be worth 10x the amount you paid: www.amazon.com/HotHands-HM07019VP-Hothands-Heatmax-Variety/dp/B004R1J464 8. Level spot for your tent. 9. Spare tent spikes. The ground has a lot of rocks and it can be difficult to get all your spikes in. Bring a rubber mallet too for driving them in. 10. Get there early to find a good, level spot for your tent. If you have a few guys in your groups, setting up near the treeline makes 4am pee-pee runs a whole lot more convenient. Closer to the event, someone will post the list from past years of all the stuff you need to make sure you bring...be sure to check out that list.
