Jead, That's a title you certainly can retain.
I'm not looking to take on more titles beyond the appointment of Police Chief by Mayor MBrow.
Someone mentioned rain earlier in this thread, we've had such good luck the last few years that he probably jinxed it now...

There has never been more than a foot of rain at MJ so it's nothing to worry about.

SHOCKED that Lettuce is on the bill and Soulive isn't...hope they get added as they're always a great time.
Wish some past bands, that I never heard of until seeing them at Mt Jam, would be added to the bill:
The 4onthefloor Blitzen Trapper Anders Osborne Dopapod Deer Tick Pretty Lights
And of course, the one band I can't understand how they've not made it to the Mountain yet, Guster.
(You'll notice my wishful additions aren't Jam bands...which is probably why I think this year's lineup is one of the best ever unlike everybody else.)

The way this festival is evolving I wouldn't be completely shocked to see kid cudi next year just to sell tickets. So bummed with this lineup. Needs some serious additions

was curious if anyone had any insight on additional bands to the line-up. I think I counted 28 currently and it's usually around 40. I'm sure there will be more, but will it be more small print acts or can we keep our fingers crossed for another legit headliner. Love the Avetts, they are always a good time, but they are not MJ headliner caliber. And this lineup needs some pizazz at the top, in a bad way Not sure how to read into this but if you notice the only headliner listed so far on the lineup page is UM for Thursday night. Could be heads for the other 3 nights haven't been announced yet? Or still working out times for those already listed?

if i had to guess your going to have um headlining thursday, beck/wilco fri/sat and avett bro's sunday... the only way i could see that changing is if avett bro's dont headline and just play a daytime set, then perhaps we get one more headliner. I know they ruled out dead and co on fb but someone else pointed out the difference in the pre-lineup poster (the one with variations of "this band") compared to the actual lineup poster. The top bill on the pre-lineup one seems to be missing from the actual lineup poster, could just be how they set it up but the first one they put out has one band listed above all the others... seriously crossing my fingers that they are just saying dead and co isnt headlining to cover until they actually announce

i just can't see the avert brothers being billed as a headliner, largely because they have been there 2 of past 4 jams. You can't try and slip them in as headliners now. That's just lazy

Give me real length sets from Deer Tick, Blitzen Trapper, with Anders Headlining into late nights by Dopapod and Pretty lights as the Friday night. Not that I am into Pretty Lights but I know I couldn't sleep through it so I would check it out.

Regret it now but the real question is where is the MBrow crew going this year for their festie needs?

Mr Brow lives between Annapolis, B More, and DC- always shows to catch. Anders this month, DBT next month, tickets procured for SCOTS in May, my crew is doing some stuff with WJFF radio out of Jeffersonville NY in July to off-set not getting together at MJ.

I can't picture the Avetts being headliners either. Personal taste aside (not a fan), it would be like Sister Sparrow being a headliner next year. My thought on who will be the mystery headliner would be Wilco being on a different night than Beck...or Gov't Mule being a headliner (zzzzzzzzz) one night.
On a side note, have been listening to some Love Cannon stuff and they sound REALLY fun. I hope they get a later main stage slot. NOBODY will know who they are or show up originally, but once they start doing blue grass covers of 80s songs I think the crowd will start to come and the sing alongs will begin. Unfortunately, I think they'll get a 30min indoors slot where nobody will see them...but if they put them outside and gave them a decent set, I think the crowds would come and they'd be a sleeper hit.

I'm kind of hoping Love Cannon plays the pavilion. I was really digging them on you tube.

Would love to see Jack White with any band he wants to bring. Also patiently waiting for DbT to grace the mountain again. Speaking of Grace............

I'm guessing that anyone who feels that neither Beck nor Wilco are headline worthy has not seen either live.
Sure, they're not ABB or Dead & Co. but who else do you want? Pink Floyd?!?!
Fact of the matter is that both acts kick ass live and I'm very excited about this year.
