was curious if anyone had any insight on additional bands to the line-up. I think I counted 28 currently and it's usually around 40. I'm sure there will be more, but will it be more small print acts or can we keep our fingers crossed for another legit headliner. Love the Avetts, they are always a good time, but they are not MJ headliner caliber. And this lineup needs some pizazz at the top, in a bad way

In the past have they added big names after the original announcement?

in 2014 i remember them adding the allman bros later on but last year it was only a bunch of smaller text acts that ive never heard of before. i would expect the same this year, probably not going to be much more to be excited about coming down the pipeline

The ABB addition is likely the biggest ever addition. However, they were revealed as a mystery add. It did not come our of left field, we knew for weeks.
I would imagine they are working on the addition of a headliner as none of the current bands have been billed as such. I am sure they are balancing the books and trying to decide if they need to spend more money or how much they can expect to add to sales with bands x,y,z.
MJ topped out at 60+ bands when they had the four stages. They have since advertised 40+, then 40, and now no mention of the number. It has been typical for those last adds to be bands you have not heard of. (Some good talent though ie:Matt Anderson last year) Some names will also just appear on the page without an actual announcement.

There is so much on the line up list to like, all the way down. Like what the founder said, tons of talent and diversity. What could be wrong with talent and diversity?
Warren has played with Wilco before, Nels Cline has played in with ABB's at a few of the Beacon runs. Beck and Wilco have played together. There could be some great cross pollination up on stage that weekend.

Anything they add for me is just icing on the cake.

yea I'd like to say that I am, in fact, pumped for the lineup. My excitement actually grows as the font gets smaller. But for my first 4 mountain jams I got the opportunity to see ABB widespread panic Robert plant and bob weir. As a 32 yr old And relatively new to the festival scene I've always been grateful with those experiences. This lineup doesn't have that cherry on top yet. That's all. Either way I can't wait for June.

As for additions my wish list would be Judah & The Lion, Wookiefoot, JJ Grey, and Nahko and medicine for the people

It's funny how jammers differ in what they look for in a lineup. I look beyond the headliners. Taking a quick nap during a headliner your not thrilled about leaves you ready to jam the night away to the sounds of the late night acts which have been getting better and better (I'm not as young as I used to be and can't do the up all night and day thing). I'm looking forward to Thievery Corp. and Lettuce. The only issue I have this year is Umphrey's playing Thursday night and I won't be there. I missed the Beacon shows since I figured they would be playing MJ.

Beacon UM show was outstanding. They def are the Thurday night band. I understand the young person, no sleep thing. Naps are a necessity this year.
