Yea the biggest reason we havent done GOTV yet is because of where it is. Bridgeport has long been known as shall we say "less than desirable" as far as cities go. And Hunter is just the opposite!

Vibes was awesome last year, the venue was great. The city of Bridgeport has nothing to do with the festival when you're actually at the festival. I haven't been to MJ yet so I hope it compares.

Yea the biggest reason we havent done GOTV yet is because of where it is. Bridgeport has long been known as shall we say "less than desirable" as far as cities go. And Hunter is just the opposite! It's not so bad... I love Seaside park for a festival.. I don't camp and stay with friends in Bridgeport but everyone seems to enjoy it.. We park at a local lot - and sometimes sleep it off in the cars and never had a problem... And I think one your inside you're insulated from the local rifraf... It's in no way as beautiful as the Catskills... Unless you like water... We have some sketchy people here in Hunter too...

It's not as vast as GOTV.. More compressed feeling - but not crowded.. Not as many vendors.. Nice site lines of the stage from the ski trails looking down..

We were thinking about going to GOTV next year as it will be the 20th anniversary and the 50th anniversary of The Dead. But that doesnt mean we wont be doing Mountain Jam as we love the Mountain and the vibes in the area!

The Vibe is a great festival!. The weather is much better. The security was appropriate . It is more of a mellow family event, compared to Mountain Jam. They also have great band. A fun environment. I hope this helps.

We watched part of Bobby and bailed. Trey would have been better. What do we know about Lockn' ? Looking at that line up it must been much bigger than MJ. www.locknfestival.com/lineup/2014.html

I found Ratdog to be slow and uninspired..
TAB at MJam would be a game changer for me.. I'm sick into Phish.. Can't help myself... haha

Your right, I agree..... no inspiration there. The one band I genuinely had no interest after the first thirty minutes.................TAB, I would love to see that at next year MJ

It would also fit with the booking philosophy we get now; Tweedy not Wilco, CRB not Crowes. Which is fine really, I do not want to go to 'Roo sized fest. Also, Mike Gordon has played before. Although, I'm not adding TAB to my top 5 for 2015. Still prefer Fish heads to Phish Heads. theradiators.org/zekespeaks2.html

So back from Vibes and Peach. I really enjoyed both. I didn't get the sketchy Vibe of Bridgeport at all. I felt very well insulated at the fest. The music was top notch and I felt it was really well run. Oh and yay for car side camping.
I've been to all 3 Peach Fests. I really like the lineups that they have had. I was concerned about the late changes because of Ratdog, but I really enjoyed both of Trey's sets. Such a great band. Having been spoiled by Vibes, I really wish they would add carside camping somehow at the Peach. Their shuttles up and down the mountain were not convenient at all. There was talk of using a local campground where carside was available. They held that just for RV this year. If they expand it out for tent camping next year, I'll definitely consider it.

Having been to many Mt.Jams and my first Peachfest this year I can comment... I went to the Peach because scheduling conflict kept Me from Mt.Jam and I just refused to miss the Allmans on there last tour.EVERYTHING about Mt. Jam is superior to the Peach minus the price? My wife hadles tix! lol I WAS there the year Mt. Jam had the security issues and even that year the scene INSIDE the fest is beautiful! That year the security was handled by what looked like a group of convicts on work release, they stole, molested women (Im am talking Women fondling women etc...) and then proceeded to hawk the dope and party favors they STOLE. The year following and since as far as I know security has been great, by great I MEAN almost non-existent. God Bless. Now at the Peach you must pick between the artists at Mt. Jam YOU GET THEM ALL!! I missed Jaimoes Jasszz band cuz I had to walk half a mile to see Gov't Mule. At Mt. Jam the Vibes are WWAAYY better. Looking forward to returning to Hunter next spring.
