Hi This will be my first time attending and I will be camping. I was wondering if there is any policy on cooking in the camping area.

Hi ngran,
No open fires and charcoal but you can use a propane grill. More info can be found on the MJ website under the festival guide tab and look under what to bring/what to leave home.
Last years forum offers a lot of information along with the website.
enjoy

of course there is also a lot of tasty food stands and food trucks. gives a nice variety of choices. i'm not a very good camper chef. so i bring things that can be eaten at room temp ,or chilled.

The Potluck BBQ was founded by Me.... with some help from Maxbear, Saint, Jay and Anto. This annual BBQ started about 8-9yrs ago and has grown ever since. Great food always shows up and if you aren't inclined to make something, theres always the option of the spoons, knives/forks and plates etc.

Rinnies, I'll be camping up in your vicinity and I'll have a propane grill. You need to warm something up and the grill is unpacked, you can enhance the food experience and warm your peanut butter and jelly sandwich up....loll

Also, will there be any way to clean cooking equipment by the near-car camping area? Really, all I need is water.

there is a tanker truck where you can fill your water bottles.

ngran, I bring a container of tap water and use it for drinking and cleaning everything from gear to utensils. It's alot easier than finding the water truck. I have an old, large salad bowl that I use like a kitchen sink.

hi i have a few questions regarding food and drink, can i bring a case of water bottles? do they ID you if you bring in beer? i know they said no charcoal grills but can i bring my hookah? also some parts of the site say free showers to all and some say. also is there dumpsters for trash disposal, id imagine we will accumulate a decent amount of trash camping for 4 days

HippieDippie- Yes you can bring as much water as possible I suggest the big jugs with the taps on them. You will need a ID to buy beer all weekend. I think a hookah will be OK don't have in view when you drive in. I know there are free showers for VIP but for regular camping I'm not sure I think they are available. There are trash and recycling bags all over the camping areas and they do pick them up regularly.

Do you get ID'd for alcohol you bring from home? Like if you're just sitting in the camping area having a drink?
